Silencing Voices: When the World Tries to Erase the Gospel Truth

They mocked him and cancelled him.
They tried to silence him, making attempts at silencing voices they disagree with.

But God is not finished with him, despite efforts at silencing voices that challenge worldly ways.

Across the world, believers are being pushed out, shouted down, and labeled dangerous—not for violence, not for hate, but for speaking the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

What was once dismissed as fringe opposition is now becoming organized resistance. The goal is no longer to debate truth—but to silence it entirely, a practice close to silencing voices of faith.

He Will Not Silence His Voice

Jaden Ivey, former NBA player with the Chicago Bulls is part of a growing trend to silence voices. He has never backed down from his faith in Christ. He made it clear that the NBA’s unbiblical celebration of pride month was a celebration of “unrighteousness.”

NBA staff called him crazy, psycho for sharing Jesus Christ among young men who desperately need Jesus.

For simply pointing out the truth based on God’s Word, he was let go from his team. But God had other plans. Jaden understood clearly that there was no value in embracing the things of this world, fame, fortune, popularity in exchange for his soul. In fact, silencing voices like his only strengthens the resolve to speak truth.

This is not something Jaden is about to compromise on. The hand of God is now using Jaden for His purposes and His glory.

Jaden Ivey was last seen after being released by his team preaching the gospel in the streets of Chicago. God is using a young man filled with faith to share His love for Jesus among all his followers. These actions continue, even as others pursue silencing voices against the message.

What the NBA meant for evil (shutting down the word of God), God meant for good.

God is using Jaden to put on full public display the contrast between a world embracing and celebrating sin and moral depravity. While it attempts to shut anyone up who speaks the Words of truth spoken by Christ, the world is simultaneously silencing voices that proclaim gospel truth.

This is a growing trend across the globe.

“Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” (2 Timothy 3:12)

This is what silencing voices looks like in real time.

What Would You Do?

This is no longer about “them.”

This is about you.

What will you do when speaking truth costs you something?

When silence becomes easier… safer… expected?

Will you speak—or will you be silent?

When the World Rejects the Messenger

Across the globe, street preachers are being arrested under false pretenses for simply sharing the gospel. Only to have charges dropped or cases dismissed. These instances of silencing voices are growing in frequency.

These cases are being forced into the courts as a more serious matter against those speaking the gospel, often resulting in attempts at silencing voices of believers.

In 2019, Finland parliamentarian Päivi Räsänen questioned the church she attended on the biblical stance of celebrating LGBTQ. A Finnish prosecutor brought charges against her. They went back to 2004 finding other instances where she invoked Bible verses demonstrating unrighteousness in the world. The pressure for silencing voices like hers is clearly mounting.

She was brought up on charges twice and twice she won her case. They brought her up again on charges and this time it went to the supreme court of Finland and they ruled against her.

She is now imprisoned for quoting the truth of God’s Word, yet another example of authorities silencing voices who choose to speak biblical truth—revealing a deeper issue:

The question is no longer whether speech is offensive—but whether Scripture itself is becoming unacceptable in public life.

“If the world hates you, know that it has hated me before it hated you.” (John 15:18)

The world is not just disagreeing—it is silencing voices that carry truth.

This only scratches the surface.

When Government Authorities Try To Silence the Truth

Canada is taking even more drastic measures against those who share what they call hate speech. Canada is about to pass Bill C-9 (Combatting Hate Act) to strip the defense based on religious reasons for those taken to court for sharing the Bible with others. The House has passed the bill and they are waiting on Senate approval. Such legal maneuvers contribute to silencing voices in the public square.

Notice how they call sharing God’s Word hate.

“Woe to those who call evil good
and good evil,
who put darkness for light
and light for darkness,
who put bitter for sweet
and sweet for bitter.” (Isaiah 5:20)

This is a fast growing and frightening trend. In a world filled with moral decay and rot, the laws of protection for speech will crumble under the weight of this depravity. Many are left with silencing voices as a means of control.

“We must obey God rather than men.” (Acts 5:29)

What begins as censorship ends in persecution. Silencing voices is only the first step.

Standing Up When the World Stands Aside

Yesterday, they worked to silence God’s Word.

Today, they are trying to strip away the protection law by law for people who want to share the truth in a world desperate for truth.

Tomorrow, they will abolish any speech or material that has to do with God. This progression highlights the danger of silencing voices that stand up for Christian values.

This progression should not surprise us.

Every society that rejects truth follows the same path:
First, it mocks truth.
Then, it marginalizes it.
Finally, it criminalizes it.

“Woe to those who call evil good…” (Isaiah 5:20)

It’s important we remind ourselves where this is leading. The book of Revelation tells us that the man of lawlessness who will be the global leader during the Tribulation will kill anyone who refuses the mark of the beast.

“It also forced all people, great and small, rich and poor, free and slave, to receive a mark on their right hands or on their foreheads, so that they could not buy or sell unless they had the mark, which is the name of the beast or the number of its name.” (Revelation 13:16–17)

This future prophecy stands right in front of us today in clear focus. It will only be the unbelievers who will not see this coming, though silencing voices makes the warning harder to hear for many.

This is why building a Christian home library is no longer optional—it is preparation.

A time is coming when truth will no longer be searchable, shareable, or even speakable.

But a Bible on your shelf cannot be censored.
A written testimony cannot be erased.
A preserved truth can still be found.

Your home may become the place where someone finally encounters the truth—when the world has done everything it can to silence it.

When God closes the door—many will be left behind looking for truth.

They will need the truth the world has abolished.

But a Home Christian library will help them see the light. They will find the truth during the earth’s worst days, providing hope against the tide of silencing voices.
