Something isn’t right.
The earth feels unstable. Seasons shift without warning. Storms intensify. Patterns break. Extreme weather shifts are increasing.
And deep down, many are asking the same question:
Is creation trying to tell us something?
The Bible says… it is.

Why Is Creation Groaning?
Since the beginning, creation has spoken of the curse of sin. God has used creation in powerful ways to speak to humanity.
- He brought restoration to the weary and repentant (sun and rain)
- He delivered judgment to the sinful and unrepentant (floods, plagues, hail, and earthquakes)
God is speaking through creation? Is His voice getting louder?
Paul the apostle stated clearly:
“For since the creation of the world God’s invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature—have been clearly seen, being understood from what has been made, so that people are without excuse.” (Romans 1:20)
The power, majesty, and sovereignty of God speaks to us daily through the beauty and complexity of creation. Therefore, we have no excuse not to believe.
Is creation groaning? Are we again without excuse for not seeing the signs of the end of the age through creation?
Why does this matter to us today?
What Caused Creations Groaning?
Initially, the same curse that sin brought into our world also infected creation. Mankind toils and groans. Creation followed along. Therefore, all creation groans.
“For the creation was subjected to frustration, not by its own choice, but by the will of the one who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be liberated from its bondage to decay and brought into the freedom and glory of the children of God.” (Romans 8:20-21)
This isn’t symbolic language. Paul is describing a present reality—creation is not at rest. It is straining, a world under pressure, waiting for something to break loose.
Creation isn’t just suffering—it’s anticipating a moment.
God created all things. He called all things “good.” Then sin entered through Adam and Eve. The world turned dark in sin. It caused the groaning of creation. As God distanced Himself from sin and the earth, He spoke through prophets. He also spoke through His creation.
Creation shows us a great deal about God. He is still speaking through creation today?
The question is, what is He saying?
Is Creation Anticipating the Rapture?
The Holy Spirit revealed a great deal to Paul about creation groaning. Especially as it hinges on the end of the age.
Paul stated clearly:
“For the creation waits in eager expectation for the children of God to be revealed.” (Romans 8:19)
This is not just God speaking through creation. This is God warning us through creation.
The revealing of God’s children (church of believers) will take place at the rapture. Everyone that is taken will show the world who God’s children are.
Today, true Christian believers in Jesus and His complete work of redemption on the cross for our sins wait in great anticipation for the return of Christ. The signs to us are clear. The world does not see the signs. They belong to the world and believe only what the world tells them.
But the believers know the signs of the end of the age and what is causing the groaning of creation. Paul is stating in this passage that God is speaking through creation. He’s letting us know that even creation anticipates the soon coming of the rapture.
Reflect:
Do you believe what the world says about creation or what the Bible declares? This is an important question. It will determine whether you are prepared for what is coming in the days and hours ahead.
God has been using creation to speak to humanity in a moderately subtle tone since the beginning.
Is His voice getting louder? What is He saying through creation today?

Do the Birth Pangs Reveal Creations Groaning?
Creation isn’t just an origin story—it’s a framework for the entire gospel. Similar to other themes, creation is woven into God’s entire story. It’s not surprise He uses creation to speak to our fallen world.
When God came in the flesh as Christ, He taught us what was going to happen in the last days at the end of this age. He said there would be earthquakes, famines, heavenly signs and wonders. These signs would be the birth pains. Therefore, these signs would lead us into the end of the age.
Today, we see an abundance of global weather anomalies.
- Extreme flooding
- Record breaking hailstorms
- Increasing frequency of earthquakes and volcanic eruptions
- Severe droughts
- Powerful tornadoes out of season
- Extreme weather shifts (snow storms → out of season hot temperatures)
The groaning of creation is not only in weather oddities. But it’s also in the rare extreme shifts of weather.
This past month in our area—we went from a snowstorm then a shift to 80 degree temps. Then a shift back to snow. A few days later, we’re back to 80 degree temps. Then suddenly we were under the highest tornado warnings ever recorded for the state. This is all in a span of several weeks.
Today, over 60% of the U.S. is experiencing drought conditions. This issue has been expanding for years and getting more extreme.
We’re not just watching weather patterns shift.
We’re watching stability unravel.
The question isn’t if something is happening.
It’s this:
Are we paying attention before it’s too late?
Where do we go from here? Who’s attention Is God really trying to gain?
These signs aren’t random. Jesus described them in detail.
See how they connect here:

Creation Groaning: We Are Living in God’s Final Window of Warnings
God has always been revealing Himself through His creation.
Today, His voice is getting louder. His warnings are getting more attention.
Like creation, the believers are eagerly waiting the return of Christ to gather His believers before the wrath of God is brought upon all creation.
God is not looking to warn or gain the attention of true believers. They already know the story and how it ends.
It’s the unrepentant and the rejectors. It’s those who believe doing good and being good is enough and they don’t believe they need Christ. Those who are stuck in religious rituals and traditions. These are the ones that God is warning.
His warnings and shakings are going to increase in the coming days. Many people have already noticed but have yet to make a decision. Right now, you still have time.
But Scripture never promises you tomorrow.
And the longer you wait… the easier it becomes to ignore what God is clearly showing.
Reflect:
- When you see the world becoming more unstable, what is your first instinct—fear, distraction, or awareness?
- Do you see creation as random… or as a warning?
- If Christ returned today, would you be ready—or would you wish for more time?
Apply:
- Spend 5 minutes today in silence—observe creation and ask God: “What are You showing me?”
- Open and read Romans 8:18–23 slowly. Don’t skim it. Sit in it.
- Identify one area of your life where you’ve been spiritually passive—and take one step back toward God today.
Don’t just recognize the signs—respond to them.

Learn what Jesus taught about the end of the age in His Olivet Discourse.
What Is Creation Pointing Toward?
- Not chaos → but culmination
- Not randomness → but fulfillment
- Not destruction → but restoration through Christ
Is This the End of Creation Groaning?
No, just like the there is victory for those who’ve chosen Christ. There is going to be victory and restoration for creation. Many unbelievers love to quote the Bible by stating we should love one another like Christ. They say this without fully understanding the meaning of love that comes from God.
Here’s what they never mention. The Bible’s primary focus is not on saving the planet—but on God saving people and ultimately restoring all creation through Christ.
In fact, the entire Bible story is about how badly we ourselves need to be saved. This is why it points entirely to Christ who is the ONLY ONE that can save us.
How do we know this is true?
The present earth is a place that our Holy God will never inhabit. Because of the existence of sin and the blood of innocent people on the earth. This is why there is coming a new heaven and a new earth. One where God will be present with His creation (believers).
→ Don’t stop here!
This is only the beginning of the story.
Creation’s groaning leads somewhere—and the Bible tells us exactly where. Discover what happens next in the new heaven and new earth.→
Creation is groaning.
Not because it’s falling apart without purpose…
But because it knows something we often ignore:
The story is almost over.
The question is—
Where will you stand when it is?
