What’s the Millennial Kingdom Going To Look Like According To the Words Spoken to Isaiah From God?
Bible Study Guide
This Bible study guide will explore the Millennial Kingdom and the many wondrous details that were given only to Isaiah.
Many years ago I lost an uncle of mine. Among many things he was good at, he could also cook up some of the most delicious foods that our family still talks about. We realized after his passing that he had not written down any of his famous recipes we enjoyed so much throughout the years.

It was a sad reality to think that we couldn’t even conjure up his scrumptious delicacies as we remembered his life when he was with us. All those great dishes were gone. He was the only one who could make it just the way we enjoyed every bite of it.
In many ways, Isaiah was like my uncle. Isaiah, the prophet was one of the unique of the four major prophets. One of the things that made him stand out among the four was that God revealed to him things that had not been revealed to any other.
Among the things revealed to Isaiah were the details behind the return of Christ to rule over His Millennial Kingdom for a thousand years.
Thankfully, God inspired Isaiah to write what God told him of this coming one thousand year Messianic Kingdom that would belong to Christ.
Praying For the Millennial Kingdom to Come
Did you know that each time you pray the Father’s Prayer given to us by Christ, you pray for the coming of the Millennial Kingdom of Christ. This will be a kingdom that will ultimately lead to God bringing heaven down to earth in the new earth and new heaven (Revelation 21).
“This, then, is how you should pray:
“‘Our Father in heaven,
hallowed be your name,
your kingdom come,
your will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:9-13)
Christ will rule over the one thousand year Millennial Kingdom which will then bring the new earth and new heaven. All of sin and evil will be gone and God will live among His people. This is His will and His will, will be done on earth as it is in heaven on that glorious day.
Is the Millennial Kingdom Part of the Last Days?
(Isaiah 2:1-2) Isaiah does a pivot in his recording from chapter 1 to chapter 2. He first speaks of the restoration of Israel after its punishment for falling deeply into sin and opposing God.
Then, God takes Isaiah into the distant future which Isaiah records as the “last days.” Isaiah prophesied of this time approximately 550 years before the birth of Christ and around 2500 years before our present day.
Isaiah had no idea when the last days would take place. He also didn’t know how far in the future this prophecy would be fulfilled.
Understanding a Prophets Visions
It’s important to remember how prophets saw visions and dreams of far distant times from God. Imagine standing on the peak of a mountain. In front of you are a dozen mountain peaks lined up behind one another.
The mountain peaks might be clearly seen but the distance between each peak was unknown because of your vantage point. It was similar for prophets. The mountain peaks represented the different prophecies given to them by God. They just couldn’t tell the time period that stood in between each peak (prophecy). Therefore, they knew of the events to come but not of the time period between the events.
This is why many of them believed that they were living in the last days.
In Isaiah’s record of the Millennial Kingdom, the “last days” is an inclusive term of the last days as they relate to Bible history and future events prophesied.
We’re currently living in the last days. Christ delivered the final covenant between God and mankind in the form of the free gift of salvation. Now what’s left is the culmination of all the “last days” prophesies that are converging today as we speak.
Nothing is falling apart but all is falling perfectly into place as God spoke. The Millennial Kingdom is part of the last days of earth and heaven as we know them.
The Highest Mountain of the Millennial Kingdom
Isaiah begins by pointing to the sacred temple of the Lord. There is no temple in Jerusalem today. But there is one coming. This is not the one that Isaiah is pointing to here. The coming temple on the temple mount will be eventually desecrated by the Antichrist during the Great Tribulation.
Isaiah is pointing to another temple that will be set upon the temple mount in Jerusalem and it will not share the temple mount with any other mosque or religious building. It’ll be the temple of the Lord set upon His holy mountain of Jerusalem.
In fact, Isaiah points to a very unique vantage point of the Millennial Kingdom temple. One that will not be shared by the third temple that’ll exist during the Tribulation Period.
The temple will be set on the highest of mountains during the Messianic Era. This will still be in Jerusalem.
Currently, the temple mount sits approximately 2,430 ft. (740 m) above sea level. Compared to the mountains of the world, this is not a very tall mountain. How will it be the tallest mountain exalted above all the hills? This requires a visit to Revelation 16 to see what will happen during the Tribulation and God’s wrath upon the earth.
“Then there came flashes of lightning, rumblings, peals of thunder and a severe earthquake. No earthquake like it has ever occurred since mankind has been on earth, so tremendous was the quake. 19 The great city split into three parts, and the cities of the nations collapsed. God remembered Babylon the Great and gave her the cup filled with the wine of the fury of his wrath. 20 Every island fled away and the mountains could not be found.” (Revelation 16:18-20)
All Mountains Will Be Made Low
At the tail end of the Tribulation according to Revelation 16, the earth will experience the worse chaos and disaster it has ever seen. Every mountain will be made low and every island will vanish.
The profile of the earth will change drastically and will be unrecognizable. According to Isaiah, this will lead to the mountain of the Lord where the temple will be during the Millennial Kingdom to be the highest of all mountains.
Many outdoor enthusiasts stream to the worlds tallest mountains to climb to their peaks. It’s a natural attraction of mankind to look for high mountains to climb.
But during the Millennial Kingdom, all mountains will be replaced by one very important one. It’ll be exalted above all the others. Isaiah states that not some, not a few, and not even most; but all nations will stream to the mountain of Lord where His temple will sit and where Christ will rule.
They will not seek to reach its peak. But rather, they’ll seek to see Christ and to learn from Him the ways of His holiness and righteousness.
The prophet Zechariah gives some details as to the requirement of all nations to visit Jerusalem. This will not be an option less they wish their nations to see no rain.
“Then the survivors from all the nations that have attacked Jerusalem will go up year after year to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, and to celebrate the Festival of Tabernacles. 17 If any of the peoples of the earth do not go up to Jerusalem to worship the King, the Lord Almighty, they will have no rain.” (Zechariah 14:16-17)
Then Christ will be the true and ultimate fulfillment of the Feast of Tabernacles given to the Israelites after their exodus out of Egypt. What a glorious site to behold.
Summary of the Millennial Kingdom
After the Second Coming of Christ, He’ll judge against those who’ve opposed God and His chosen people and land. Then Christ will establish himself for one thousand years as the Lord of lords and King of kings in the land that is the apple of God’s eye.
Christ will rule as the just judge in holiness and righteousness. He’ll rule from the holy temple on the holy hill in Jerusalem.
All nations will flock to Jerusalem once a year to celebrate the Feast of Tabernacles with Christ as the ultimate fulfillment of this preordained feast given to the Israelites by God.
All of those who have gone through the first resurrection and have been removed from the effects of the second death will reign with Christ. What a glorious time it’ll be to be with our Savior always. We will also help in maintaining His righteous and holy rule over the earth’s nations.
Let’s continue on this journey to see what other incredible details Isaiah reveals to us about this upcoming Millennial Kingdom. I hope you’re as fascinated about this one thousand year reign of Christ upon the earth as I am.
